Araneta City becomes go-to center for joggers

Looking for a new spot to engage in physical activities or to enjoy leisure time with loved ones on weekends? If so, take note: Araneta City rolls out its aRUNeta Run Club at the City grounds, offering a new experience for Araneta City-zens and nearby areas.

Through this program, Araneta City grounds become an open public space from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. every Sunday starting Sept. 8. Pedestrians are free to roam around or do physical activities such as running/jogging, Zumba, cycling, and walking. The aRUNeta Run Club initiative aims to provide a safe outdoor space for citizens to do their recreational activities in the grounds of Araneta City without the obstruction of vehicular traffic.

“We at Araneta Group believe that having open spaces is essential for creating a balanced and healthy urban environment as it provides much-needed breathing space and relief from the hustle and bustle of city life. Apart from improving the well-being of Araneta City-zens, aRUNeta Run Club also serves as a social hub, bringing people together and fostering a sense of community,” said Marjorie Go, Araneta City vice president for marketing.

The following avenues will be closed partially for pedestrians: Gen. Romulo, Gen. Roxas, Gen. Araneta, Gen. McArthur, Gen. Aguinaldo, and Times Square. These roads are free of charge, and pedestrians are reminded to keep the grounds clean and trash-free.
