‘Embracing Autism’ webinar on May 27

In the Philippines, one in every 122 people are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  One of the biggest misconceptions about autism is that people with ASD cannot lead “normal” lives.

However, being “normal” in a society means you are included in it, not isolated or set aside. Inclusion is one of the biggest challenges for people with ASD, because being included in a society also means one’s rights and humanity are respected.

To know more about ASD, the challenges facing those with the disorder, and to seek ways in hurdling such obstacles, the public is invited to join the “Embracing Autism” webinar on May 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon via Zoom. Organized by CFS Creative Training and Management and the VIP Network, the webinar will have as guest speaker teacher Grace Flores-Osio, an educator for 28 years with a degree in Special Education from UP Diliman, and a trained educational therapist and former instructor for the National Institute for Learning Development in the Philippines.

To register, e-mail cfsctm01@yahoo.com or vision_image98@yahoo.com.

Take that first step in understanding ASD, and the humans affected by it, so that society may find a way to be a more inclusive and compassionate society.
