Food, fluid, fun, and faith: Ways to living in harmony with nature and our bodies

Nona “Nanay Nona” Andaya-Castillo, an international board certified lactation consultant, vegan for 31 years, and a teacher of Earth-friendly parenting and lifestyle, talks about “Food, Fluid, Fun and Faith”, that looks at the inherent dangers of the modern diet, and how consuming only plant-based, indigenous food can be safe, sustainable, accessible, compassionate, and friendly to the environment.

In this 2nd installment of Nanay Nona’s series of talks, she talks about how the food industry uses sugar, salt and fat to create addictive, unhealthy food that has significantly contributed to the high rates of incidence of cancer, stroke, heart attack, diabetes and other lifestyle diseases among the younger members of society.

Nanay Nona then reveals studies on how eating up to 10 portions of fruit and veggies a day could help reduce the chance of lifestyle diseases by 24% (coronary heart disease), 33% (stroke), 28% (cardiovascular disease), 14% (cancer), and 31% (all other disease causes of mortality).
