Ford PH packs, turns over farm produce to Gawad Kalinga communities

Ford Philippines kicked off Global Caring Month celebrated every September with a farm produce packing and donation activity participated by its employees and dealer employees.

Global Caring Month is an annual event by Ford Philanthropy that mobilizes Ford employees around the world to give back to their communities by volunteering their time and talent in various community programs.

A pool of 29 Ford Philippines employees and 25 dealer employees from Ford Tacloban and Ford Ormoc volunteered and participated in the farm produce packing and donation last Sept. 6 and 7, with a total of 600 baskets packed and filled with fresh vegetables and rice.

These baskets were then distributed to Gawad Kalinga (GK) communities such as GK Laguerta in Muntinlupa City, GK Samata in Las Pinas City, Barangay Tinaogan in Basey, Samar, GK Cabawalan in Tacloban, and GK Palanog in Tacloban, ensuring the nutrition and overall well-being of families and communities in these villages with steady supply of healthy food.

“We thank our Ford employee and dealer employee volunteers as well as our community partners for the successful kick-off of our Global Caring Month. The farm produce packing and donation is one of the highly anticipated activities from our volunteers,” shares Josie Gonzalez, director, government and corporate affairs, Ford Philippines. “We look forward to continuing our programs for our communities and beneficiaries as we remain committed to moving people forward and upward while making a difference in their lives.”
