Green GSM bolsters sustainable transport with top EVAP honor

As the Philippines accelerates its national shift toward green energy, Green GSM has been identified as a critical player in the transition, receiving the E-Mobility Award for Technology Adoption from the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP).

The distinction, awarded during the country’s premier electric mobility conference (the 13th PEVS), highlights Green GSM’s pivotal role in operationalizing the goals of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (Evida). By successfully deploying the Philippines’ first all-electric taxi fleet, the company has proven that zero-emission transport is scalable, viable, and ready for mass adoption in Metro Manila.

The award recognizes the holistic approach Green GSM has taken to reduce carbon footprints. Beyond the rollout of the vehicles themselves, the company was cited for its heavy investment in the supporting ecosystem—specifically in workforce upskilling and charging infrastructure—ensuring that the shift to green energy is inclusive and sustainable.

Reflecting on the environmental and social impact of this milestone, Green GSM Southeast Asia managing director Dao Quy Phi stated: “We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from EVAP. For us, this award represents a shared effort between our teams, our drivers, and our partners in bringing electric mobility closer to everyday Filipinos. Entering a new market always comes with challenges, from developing charging infrastructure to aligning policies and regulations, but these are necessary steps in building a cleaner and more connected future.

“Our decision to invest in the Philippines reflects a long-term commitment. We are here not just to operate a fleet, but to help build an ecosystem where electric mobility can thrive. By combining VinFast’s EV technology with local collaboration, we hope to contribute to the country’s sustainability goals and create a model for electric urban mobility in Southeast Asia.”

Every trip taken in a signature cyan Green GSM vehicle represents a reduction in carbon emissions compared to traditional combustion engines. This accolade serves as a validation of the company’s partner-based model, which empowers local operators to adopt green technology without the usual barriers to entry.

As the company continues to expand its digital ecosystem and charging network, this recognition from EVAP signals a strong vote of confidence in Green GSM’s mission to serve people, cities, and the planet together.
