The Honda Prelude is now available for pre-order starting today, Feb. 27. After being discontinued in other markets in 2001, the Prelude returns as an electrified sports coupe for its local debut. Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI) views the model as a bridge between nostalgic, well-loved heritage and new technology that is tailored for today’s market.
Designed with the concept of “Unlimited Glide,” the Honda Prelude is engineered to provide a comfortable experience for endless drives. Its low vehicle height, light proportions, and clean visibility make every trip more enjoyable. Its dynamic performance comes from several suspension components derived from the Civic Type R, delivering a balance of comfort and precise handling that makes it a capable and refined touring car.
Making its debut on the Honda Prelude is the S+ Shift technology. Honda has always emphasized its aim to satisfy drivers with its fun-to-drive nature and is now taking hybrid driving to a new level. While paddles on Honda’s hybrid models traditionally allow drivers to select between levels of regenerative braking, activating the S+ Shift gives the driver the ability to shift gears virtually. It produces visual, audio, and tactile signals such as meter display changes, virtual engine sounds, and seat vibrations to create a more engaging driving experience.
While it is a sports coupe, the Prelude is not limited to being a “weekender.” With its practical functionality and versatility, it is built to be a daily driver. The Honda Prelude will be available in the following colors: Moonlit White Pearl (new and exclusive to Prelude); Rallye Red; Racing Blue Pearl; Meteoroid Gray Metallic; and Crystal Black Pearl.
The Honda Prelude will be available in the 2.0 e:HEV E-CVT. Sources indicate that the Prelude will retail at P3.498 million.
