For inDrive partner drivers, navigating Metro Manila’s roads during the rainy season is part of the job. But for many, dealing with flooded communities is also personal.
This shared experience brought inDrive employees and partner drivers together to provide relief to more than 250 families affected by flooding in Barangay Masambong, Quezon City. Working alongside barangay officials and nonprofit organization Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (Assist), the volunteers distributed relief packs to families in the community. Each family received an emergency aid bag containing 2kg of rice, cup noodles, canned goods, coffee, biscuits and bread, helping families replace essential supplies and cope with the immediate impact of the floods.
The activity took place amid continued heavy rain, as volunteers came together to support residents of Barangay Masambong, which is frequently flooded during the monsoon season. For some of the drivers who volunteered, the situation was familiar—many live and work in communities that are similarly vulnerable to flooding.

“Our partner drivers know firsthand what it means to keep moving even when conditions are unfavorable,” said inDrive driver operations lead for the Philippines Vanessa Taqueban. “Many of them also come from communities that experience flooding, so they understand what these families are going through. We wanted to come together not just to deliver relief but to show that we can help one another when communities are facing difficult times.”
For inDrive Philippines country manager Sofia Guinto, the initiative reflects the role that the company’s driver community can play beyond mobility.
“At inDrive, we believe that being part of a community means being there for one another, especially during difficult times,” said Guinto. “Through inDrive Cares, we want to create opportunities for our employees and partner drivers to come together and support communities that need help.”
The flood relief activity is part of the inDrive Cares program, which was established when inDrive began its local operations two years ago. The program has previously supported communities affected by Typhoons Carina, Crising, and Dante through feeding programs and the distribution of relief packs. inDrive has also partnered with government agencies to clean up roads along Caingin Estero in Barangay Caingin, addressing garbage buildup that can clog drainage systems.

Through these initiatives, inDrive continues to work with employees, partner drivers, local communities, and organizations to support communities affected by disasters and other challenges.
