Is Lewis Hamilton bolting Mercedes-Benz to join Ferrari for the F1 2025 season?

Foreign news outlets just dropped the news bombshell that our favorite vegan athlete, 7-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton, will be bolting the Silver Arrow to join the Prancing Horse in 2025.

Sky Sports F1 announced earlier: “It looks like Lewis Hamilton is going to be leaving Mercedes and joining Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season.”

Naturally, this has sent motorsports media abuzz. BBC Sport followed this up by reporting that Hamilton was poised for a “shock move” to Ferrari for the 2025 season.

“A number of senior sources say a deal between the 7-time champion and Ferrari has been agreed and could be announced as early as Thursday,” wrote Andrew Benson, chief F1 writer. “Ferrari wants Hamilton to join Charles Leclerc for the 2025 season. The 39-year-old signed a new two-year deal with Mercedes for 2024 and 2025 last summer but it seems he can leave after one season, should he choose,” Benson wrote.

According to another story from Planet F1: “Carlos Sainz has been linked to Williams amidst speculation Ferrari will confirm Lewis Hamilton as his replacement later today.”

Spaniard Sainz and Monaco’s Leclerc are currently the Scuderia Ferrari F1 drivers. Leclerc has re-signed with Scuderia “beyond 2024, a deal that’s said to run through to the end of 2029. The big question is what’s next for his teammate Sainz?,” Planet F1 reported.

Motorsport.com wrote, “Lewis Hamilton is poised for a sensational move to Ferrari for 2025 with a decision on his future expected imminently.”

As of presstime, Ferrari is yet to confirm that Hamilton has officially joined the team.

Generational driver

Will we see Leclerc and Hamilton race side-by-side as Ferrari drivers in 2025?

TessDrive has been keenly following Hamilton’s career for some years now, especially since he revealed during a 2017 BBC interview that he hadn’t eaten red meat for two years, stopped eating chicken at the beginning of the year, and gave up fish in favor of a plant-based lifestyle.

However, unlike most athletes who went vegan for performance purposes, Hamilton said he changed his diet for the animals. Since then, TessDrive has been following six Instagram accounts related to Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton caused quite a stir when he posted disturbing slaughterhouse footage on his Instagram account in 2019. He defended the post, arguing that he felt a moral obligation to raise awareness of animal abuse.

Totally Vegan Buzz reported in 2019 that the F1 champion posted a video of a cow being repeatedly hit in the head with an axe, and warned the video contains “graphic footage.”

“I woke up feeling good today but this has just broke my spirit. This is so graphic, so barbaric. @peta how can I help stop this?,” he posted.
