Isuzu makes new cash donation to national kidney institute

Isuzu Philippines Corp (IPC) turned over a P250,000 cash donation to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), in time for the observance of World Kidney Day 2023 last March 9 at the NKTI Atrium in Quezon City.

The donation continues IPC’s gestures of support to medical institutions after the announcement of its “Road to Progress” vision during its 25th anniversary in 2022. The “Road to Progress” aims to align IPC’s business goals and commitment through a new perspective, focusing on the environment, society, and governance. This includes helping sustain the good health and well-being of Filipinos. IPC kicked off its donation series this 2023 with a donation to NKTI.

Starting March 6, NKTI held a 4-day series of activities for World Kidney Day 2023, which was themed “Kidney Health For All”. It conducted an exhibit, forums, and free examinations to help raise awareness about the importance of kidneys to overall health and to reduce the incidence of kidney-related diseases worldwide.

IPC representatives led by assistant vice president for administration Imelda Bernas and assistant division head for sales Robert Carlos attended the program to officially hand over the cash donation. In her speech, Bernas commended the efforts of NKTI to support the global campaign.

According to NKTI Medical Social Service Division Chief Leonides Basada, the cash donation will be used for the medical needs of NKTI’s indigent patients so they can continue with their peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. “We are very thankful for IPC’s benevolent act. The donation will mean a lot to our dialysis and transplant patients,” Basada said.
