Isuzu PH marks 20 years of service skills excellence

Isuzu Philippines Corp (IPC) proudly concluded the 20th edition of its annual Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO), a nationwide competition among its dealership network, held last April 26.

More than just a competition, the ISSO serves as a platform for growth, learning, and continuous improvement, embodying IPC’s philosophy as a “Responsible Partner” — delivering not just top-quality vehicles but also outstanding aftersales service, a key factor behind Isuzu’s consistent status as the number one truck brand in the Philippines.

Now on its 20th year, ISSO carried the theme “Honoring Skills, Gearing the Future,” highlighting IPC’s commitment to both recognizing the technical excellence of its aftersales teams and preparing them to meet the evolving demands of the automotive industry.

“This year’s theme could not be more fitting; We gather here to celebrate two decades of dedication and to inspire our aftersales dealer network to lead the next era of service excellence. Your skills and achievements reflect the global standards that Isuzu upholds. As competition intensifies with new players entering the market, it is not only the durability and reliability of our vehicles that will set us apart—but the exceptional service experience we provide,” said IPC president Mikio Tsukui.

3 categories

The 2025 ISSO features three main competition categories designed to evaluate the core competencies of aftersales personnel: Parts Staff, Service Advisor, and Service Technician. These categories are structured to test not only their technical know-how but also customer service skills, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure.

In the Parts Staff Category, participants were tested on their proficiency in identifying correct parts, understanding part specifications, and effectively navigating the parts business online portal — a vital tool in ensuring quick and accurate parts support to customers. For the Service Advisor Category, competitors were evaluated on their adherence to standard procedures in customer reception, accurately assessing customer needs, explaining service recommendations, and providing professional and efficient service consultations.
