Global mobility company Astara Philippines organized an immersive drive event last March 20 that showcased the latest lineup of JMC’s pick-up trucks, offering a first-hand experience of their performance and features.
The event took place at The General’s Farm in Tanauan, Batangas, where JMC invited dealers, fleet account representatives, bank partners, and media representatives to the exclusive event, offering a drive experience of the Grand Avenue ahead of the vehicle’s public launch at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show from April 4 to 7.
The Grand Avenue’s terrain mastery and power were unleashed as soon as participants got behind the wheel. Its 5th-generation PUMA 2.3-liter Turbocharged diesel engine is capable of generating 177 PS and 450 Nm of torque. Its ZF 8-Speed Automatic with Select Shift transmission works seamlessly with the Borg Warner 4-Wheel Drive System to maximize the pickup’s powertrain, for strong off-road capabilities. The Grand Avenue also boasts industry-leading high ground clearance and extended wheelbase.
The JMC flagship pickup is the biggest in its class, with a 3,270mm wheelbase, nearly 2-meter width, and 1.9-meter height, including cargo volume of 1.35 cubic meters. The Grand Avenue also boasts its advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), which include anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC/ESP), brake assist (BA), hill descent control (HDC), traction control system (TCS), reverse camera, and parking sensors.
The Grand Avenue’s striking aesthetics extend seamlessly into its premium cabin, offering high-end features and plush comfort. The 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Priced between P1.221 million and P1.569 million, the JMC Grand Avenue comes in Cosmic Grey, Pearl White, Silver Sand Black, Sandy Brown, and Shining Silver.
The drive also featured the Vigus, JMC’s versatile and fuel-efficient pickup suited for business fleet solutions. Under the hood is a 4D25 2.5 turbodiesel engine that can generate 130 PS and 315 Nm of torque. The Vigus is available in Elegant White and priced between just under P1 million and P1.110 million.
