Kicks e-Power owners celebrate club birthday with fuel run, donation drive

Nissan Philippines, along with the Nissan Kicks e-Power Club of the Philippines, took the Kicks e-Power to Clark, Pampanga showcasing the capabilities of the vehicle’s efficient all-electric drive. The event also served as a celebration of the club’s first anniversary.

The group conducted a fuel economy challenge where over 63 Kicks e-Power participants competed to push the limits of their vehicles’ efficiency as they drove from Manila to Clark. The drive started at Nissan’s North Edsa dealership followed by a pit stop at Marilao, Bulacan. Loaded with a full tank of gas, participants went on their way and traveled at their own pace, employing different strategies and techniques to make the most out of each drop of fuel before ending the drive at the Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort.

The winner of the challenge, Plaridel Arvin Ramos, achieved a 28.1 km/liter reading. Club founding member Derrick Tan Uy and Marc Ernest Manasan were tied in second place with an overall reading of 27.7 km/liter. Lastly, Charly Untalan and Jel Directo were tied at third place, each getting a 27.5 km/liter reading. The winners were awarded by Nissan Philippines president Juan Manuel Hoyos.

“We are grateful to Nissan Philippines Inc for turning this Eco Run into a reality. This event is a big milestone for everyone, and we couldn’t have accomplished it without their help. The route consisted of both highway and city driving to make for a more realistic daily driving scenario and the scores achieved exceeded our expectations. We were also able to educate fellow members on how to drive their Kicks efficiently while still keeping the fun factor of driving one,” says Uy, club president.

To cap off the drive, Nissan Philippines along with the founding members of the club visited Duyan ni Maria Children’s Home and donated athletic shoes to the organization. Participants were then treated to a special performance from the Duyan ni Maria Children’s Choir.

Hoyos said during the event, “Today is more than just a celebration of a remarkable vehicle. It’s a celebration of a collective vision for a more sustainable and electrifying future on our roads. I congratulate the Kicks e-Power Club of the Philippines on their first anniversary and I hope to see many more of these events led by our passionate club members,”
