MG Motor Philippines has kicked off 2026 on a high note, recording 716 units sold for the month of January, underscoring the brand’s growing momentum in the local automotive market.
This performance marks an improvement of 181 units compared to December 2025, and represents a 34% increase versus the same month last year—highlighting MG’s continued upward trajectory and strengthening presence among Filipino car buyers.
The strong showing was spearheaded by the impressive performance of MG’s top-selling models, led by the MG5 and MG ZS, which continue to resonate with customers for their combination of design, technology, and value. Other significant contributors to the brand’s notable performance were the MG TRQ L—the brand’s first-ever diesel pickup in the Philippines—and the all-new MG HS Hybrid+, both of which were introduced in the last quarter of 2025.
With this result, MG Motor Philippines now moves up to 8th place in overall industry sales, climbing one position higher based on the latest figures from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (Campi)—an important milestone that reflects the market’s growing acceptance in the MG brand.
“2026 is off to a fantastic start for MG Motor Philippines, and this strong performance reflects the growing trust and confidence of Filipino car buyers in our brand,” said MG Motor Philippines vice president Karl Magsuci. “To celebrate this achievement and to continue building on this momentum, we are excited to offer our customers special nationwide promotions across nearly every MG model, giving more Filipinos the opportunity to experience our technologically advanced, globally recognized, and best value vehicles firsthand.”
