New record: 152 kms around Cavite on an e-bike

In just his third ride in the series, TessDrive editor Aries B. Espinosa creates a new record and pushes the envelope further on his modified full-suspension Paselec GS-9 Plus e-bike in a 152-km loop of Cavite Province.

Requiring just a single full charge and a 1.5-hour top-up charge in Indang town, Aries e-bike successfully takes on the gradual ascent to Silang from Bacoor, the rolling hills of Amadeo and Alfonso, and the winding descent and flatlands of Maragondon, Naic, and Tanza for a total elevation gain of 1,154 meters (3,800 feet) in nearly 10 hours of cycling.

new record

Cycling around Cavite provides Aries and his fellow bikers—members of the Cycling Adventures and Advocates (Cycad) led by Ramoncito “Monchy” Garcia—the opportunity to discover lesser-known towns, backroads seldom used by motorists, and newly constructed roads still closed to cars for a safer and more enlightening tour of the historic province. Best of all, a tour on bicycles offers one of the most sustainable and environment-friendly ways to travel. And with an e-bike, cross-country touring is made even more enjoyable, and doable even for recreational riders and non-cyclists.
