The Southeast Asian semiconductor industry, which accounts for over $200 billion in chip exports, has shown remarkable growth, attracting investments from around the world. This makes the upcoming Semicon Southeast Asia 2024 a pivotal technological event and a key convergence of business opportunities from May 28 to 30 at Mitec in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With its theme, “Boosting Agility and Resiliency of the Global Electronics Supply Chain,” Semicon Southeast Asia 2024, the region’s premier global electronics manufacturing and supply chain event, will showcase over 500 companies spread out in over 1,000 booths—twice that of the 2023 edition.
The environment has framed the region’s unprecedented growth in the semiconductor industry, making many forward-thinking semiconductor organizations implement practices to reduce the environmental impact of their businesses and manufacturing operations to ensure their resiliency when disruptive events such as geopolitical conflicts, climate-related disasters, and public health crises strike. Initiatives focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and water use, deploying renewable energy systems, and improving the energy efficiency of chipmaking equipment are growing in importance.
To thrive in the coming decade and beyond, companies must look beyond short-term performance and focus on building resilience to better withstand unpredictable disruptions to their businesses, the semiconductor industry and global economies.
This, in a nutshell, is what Semicon Southeast Asia 2024, the largest congregation in the region’s electronics supply chain, aims to show the expected 20,000 attendees comprising industry leaders, government agencies, small and medium enterprises, and the media.
