MG showcases next-generation mobility concepts at Goodwood

Continuing its global momentum in innovation and electrified mobility, MG has unveiled two exciting concept vehicles at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 in the United Kingdom. The global debut of the MG GO! and MG Cyber Concept offers a glimpse into the brand’s future design direction, combining over a century of British automotive heritage with the latest advancements in electric vehicle (EV) technology.

The MG GO! is a compact all-electric hatchback concept that previews a future production model expected in 2027. Designed by MG’s London Design Centre, the concept reinterprets iconic elements from the brand’s classic heritage into a youthful, expressive lifestyle vehicle. Joining it is the MG Cyber Concept, a high-performance electric SUV designed to combine the brand’s sporting DNA with premium aesthetics and everyday utility. Alongside the concepts, MG showcased 6 of its latest new energy vehicles at the festival, including the MGS9 PHEV, MG4 EV Urban, MG HS Plug-in Hybrid, MG ZS Hybrid+, MG IM5, and the award-winning MG Cyberster.

Singapore wins inaugural Asian Hackathon for Green Future

Outperforming 439 teams and nearly 1,500 participants from 22 countries, Team Helios from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, has been crowned champion of the inaugural Asian Hackathon for Green Future 2026. Jointly organized by three of Vingroup’s non-profit entities—the For Green Future Foundation, VinUniversity, and the Vingroup Young Technology Talent Club (VinTechTalent)—the pan-Asian environmental hackathon for undergraduate and master’s students concluded its final round at VinUniversity in Hanoi last July 4.

Team Helios members Pratham Ranjan and Alok Vernekar secured the $8,000 first prize with their project, “An Urban Simulation Platform for Low-Carbon Infrastructure.” The district-level simulation tool allows city planners to test the placement and viability of EV charging hubs, transit networks, solar grids, and climate-resilient infrastructure before committing capital, assessing real-world impacts on travel behavior, emissions, and power grids. Vietnam’s Team VFluxion won the $5,000 second prize for a bidirectional EV charging platform designed to turn vehicles into distributed storage resources that balance grid loads and preserve battery longevity.

Two $3,000 third prizes went to Vietnam’s Team Future Greener for a life-cycle tracking and recycling platform for used EV batteries, and Team ALT F4 for a phone-integrated early warning system that forecasts saltwater intrusion 24 to 72 hours in advance for estuarine farmers.

For Green Future Foundation managing director Dr. Thai-Ha Le noted: “What makes us proud is that the Asian Hackathon for Green Future 2026 has shown that Vietnam can truly become a regional hub for Asia’s young talent in the journey of innovation for sustainable development. Here, cross-border ideas are not only shared, but also tested, refined, and transformed into practical solutions capable of creating lasting value for communities.”

Following its successful debut, the competition will return for a second season in 2027 with an expanded geographical reach.

Vinmec debuts nationwide medical robotic surgery network

Vinmec Healthcare System officially launched its nationwide network of high-tech robotic surgery centers last June 27, establishing Vietnam’s first multi-connected robotic surgery ecosystem. Vinmec Times City International Hospital functions as the central clinical coordination hub, linking advanced operational platforms at Vinmec Smart City, Vinmec Da Nang, Vinmec Central Park, and Vinmec Can Tho to establish an integrated network spanning multiple hospitals and global technology partners.

Vinmec announces establishment of the Robotic Surgery Patient Support Fund

For general procedures, the network operates three leading robotic configurations: The Da Vinci Xi at Times City, the Hugo RAS at Da Nang and Central Park, and the Toumai MT-1000 at Smart City and Can Tho. The Toumai MT-1000 introduces 5G-enabled remote robotic surgery capabilities, laying the foundation for future long-distance healthcare delivery. For orthopedic treatments, next-generation joint replacement systems including ROSA, Misso, and CORI are deployed across various regional facilities to enable millimeter-level precision in implant positioning. For neurosurgery and spinal interventions, Vinmec integrated the StealthStation S8, the Mazor X Stealth Edition guidance system, and the O-arm imaging platform to ensure real-time intraoperative validation.

The system utilizes a specialized “3-in-1” model built on personalization, automation, and standardization, creating preoperative 3D reconstructions and AI-enabled simulations for each patient. To operate the ecosystem, Vinmec developed a certified multidisciplinary specialist team. Concurrently, the network announced the establishment of the Robotic Surgery Patient Support Fund, backed by nearly 300 billion VND (approximately P700 million) from Vingroup to expand access for patients facing financial hardships.
