Honda Foundation gives relief goods to GenSan victims

Following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8, 2026, causing widespread infrastructure damage and community displacement, Honda Foundation Inc (HFI) mobilized relief operations to support affected residents in Barangay Lagao, General Santos City.

On June 30, 2026, representatives from HFI alongside over 20 Davao-based Honda associates personally repacked and distributed essential relief packages—including 5 kg of premium rice per household—to 500 impacted families in coordination with local government units. HFI represents the collective CSR arm of Honda entities in the country, including Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI), Honda Philippines Inc (HPI), Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corp (HTPE), and Honda Logistics Philippines Inc (HLPH).

HFI and HCPI president Hidekazu Arai said: “We would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the victims of the recent earthquake. Through this donation, Honda hopes to remind the community that they are in our thoughts. We would like to help ease their burdens and we hope for everyone’s swift recovery.”

Isuzu delivers emergency supplies to Sarangani families

Isuzu Philippines Corp (IPC), in partnership with Isuzu General Santos and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Burias, conducted a targeted relief drive for families displaced by the recent earthquake in Glan, Sarangani.

The joint operation provided 250 families in Barangay Burias with emergency relief packs containing hygiene kits, bottled water, and food supplies to address immediate supply shortages caused by damaged roads and disrupted local markets. Special assistance was directed toward senior citizens and coastal residents facing heightened recovery challenges.

IPC assistant vice president for administration Imelda Bernas said: “IPC believes that being a responsible corporate citizen means standing beside our communities, especially during difficult times. Through this relief initiative, we hope to provide not only essential supplies but also encouragement and reassurance to the families of Barangay Burias as they recover from the effects of the earthquake. We are grateful to our partners at Isuzu General Santos and the Barangay Local Government Unit for making this meaningful initiative possible.”

Barangay Captain Venancio Siao Wata III added: “On behalf of the people of Barangay Burias, we sincerely thank IPC and Isuzu General Santos for their generosity and compassion. Your support has brought much-needed relief to our residents, particularly our senior citizens and families who continue to face the challenges brought about by the earthquake.
