TessDrive highlights how automotive and mobility leaders extend their mission far beyond vehicle sales—championing youth road safety education in Laguna public schools and deploying emergency disaster relief across flood-hit Bulacan communities.
Honda empowers youth road safety via ‘Students on Safety’
True corporate citizenship means safeguarding the very roads on which motorists travel. Demonstrating its proactive stance on community well-being, Honda Foundation Inc (HFI)—the coordinated CSR arm of the Honda Group of Companies in the Philippines—teamed up with the Department of Education-Schools Division Office (DepEd-SDO) of Santa Rosa City, local partner schools, and the Santa Rosa City Government to roll out the Students on Safety (SOS) Program.
Conducted across 11 beneficiary public high schools in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, the initiative delivered interactive, youth-centered road safety modules to more than 380 senior students aged 16 and above, alongside attending school faculty members.

Generational culture of road discipline
Recognizing that youth approaching legal driving age represent both vulnerable road users and future motorists, HFI tapped certified instructors from the Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC). The sessions moved beyond traditional classroom lectures, integrating hands-on interactive simulations, hazard-perception exercises, and practical pedestrian and riding etiquette designed to instill a proactive safety mindset early.

The SOS Program directly aligns with Honda’s ambitious global safety benchmark: Achieving zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles worldwide by 2050. By educating youth on defensive road behavior, helmet compliance, and distraction-free transit, HFI aims to turn young Filipinos into active road safety ambassadors within their respective families and neighborhoods.
HFI brings together the collective CSR resources of Honda Philippines Inc (HPI), Honda Cars Philippines Inc (HCPI), Honda Trading Philippines Ecozone Corp (HTPE), and Honda Logistics Philippines Inc (HLPI).

inDrive’s P1.1-M flood relief for 1,200 Bulacan families
When relentless monsoon downpours and Habagat rains submerged low-lying communities across Central Luzon, ride-hailing and mobility platform inDrive Philippines mobilized its corporate workforce and partner drivers to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to vulnerable households in Meycauayan, Bulacan.
Collaborating with international nonprofit Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (Assist) and local barangay officials, the inDrive Cares program channeled $20,000 (over P1.1 million) worth of emergency food relief directly to 1,200 flood-affected families across Barangays Zamora and Perez.

In Barangay Zamora alone, 895 families suffered severe disruption from floodwaters, while portions of Barangay Perez experienced waist-deep inundation that cut off basic access.
Direct relief, upstream watershed protection
inDrive employee-volunteers assembled and distributed heavy-duty emergency sustenance bags to ensure affected families could sustain themselves during ongoing weather disturbances. Each emergency family pack included 4 kg of premium rice, 6 packs of instant noodles, 4 cans of protein-rich canned goods, 1 pack of instant coffee sachets, and 1 pack of fortified powdered milk sachets.

inDrive Philippines country manager Sofia Guinto said: “Many of our employees and partner drivers live and work in communities that also experience heavy rains and flooding, so we understand how disruptive these events can be. By working with Assist and local officials, we hope to provide families in Meycauayan with practical support as they recover. We also hope to encourage more members of the inDrive community to take part in future outreach efforts.”
The Meycauayan mission follows inDrive Cares’ previous relief operation in Barangay Masambong, Quezon City, which assisted over 250 flood-hit families. Demonstrating a comprehensive approach to flood resilience, inDrive personnel and fleet drivers also previously conducted a targeted waterway cleanup along Caingin Estero at the Valenzuela–Meycauayan boundary, clearing debris to restore natural water flow and mitigate localized overflow.
