MIAS 2022

MIAS 2022: Going live, onsite, and displaying more electric vehicles!

Ongoing from April 7 to 10, 2022, is the country’s premier auto show, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), which is once more being held at the spacious World Trade Center Metro Manila. The automotive industry’s biggest and most prestigious companies are showcasing their best and latest vehicles. The TessDrive crew covers the opening day of MIAS and zeroes in on automobiles powered by electricity (and hopefully, made with more compassionate hands using cruelty-free materials—meaning no animal ingredients): The Nissan full-electric Leaf and e-Power technology; Changan’s Eado EV 460; the Chery Tiggo8 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV); Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines’ (eVAP) Wallbox charging pod and the Dongfeng Rich EV 6 electric pickup courtesy of Pilipinas Autogroup Inc, used for servicing the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax). The annual MIAS, which was previously known as the Manila International Motor Show, began in 2005. Since then, this much-anticipated motor show has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors, and has become the auto show with the most number of car displays and exhibitors. In the past 2 years, MIAS was held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. But now, MIAS 2022 opens with a bang, going back live and onsite with awesome-looking cars, exciting launches, and the crowd-favorite Russ Swift performing jaw-dropping stunts, drawing in and wowing the crowds. MIAS 2022 is also an exciting glimpse into the future of motoring, with a growing number of displays of electric vehicles that will lead the way to greener, more sustainable mobility and bring the transport industry away from fossil fuel dependence. Indeed, MIAS 2022 presents an exciting mix of the best of today’s motoring, and what may even be better things to come for tomorrow’s motorists. MIAS 2022 is happening every day, from April 7 to 10, 2022, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
