TessDrive goes on a new e-bike tour around Bulacan

Cycling tourism enthusiast and TessDrive editor Aries B. Espinosa recently went on a cycling tour around Bulacan using his Paselec GS9-Plus electric bike.

Aries, along with seven other cyclists comprising the Cycling Adventures and Advocates (Cycad) and the Senior and Junior Bikers of Quezon City-Caloocan City, toured the eastern portion of Bulacan province, passing through the city of San Jose Del Monte, the towns of Dona Remedios Trinidad (DRT), Norzagaray, Angat, San Ildefonso, Pandi, Bocaue, Santa Maria, Marilao, and Meycauayan City, for a total distance of 120 km.

The ride started in front of the Oblation of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City at pre-dawn on Sunday, March 19. The tour took around 13 hours to complete.

The highlight of the ride was the exploration of the Malangaan Cave in Barangay Tukod in San Ildefonso, where the group also viewed the natural rock formations in a dried-up riverbed.

Cycling around Bulacan on bicycles provided Aries and his fellow bikers the opportunity to explore the lesser-known roads seldom used by motorists for a safer and more enlightening tour of this historic province. Best of all, a tour on bicycles offers one of the most sustainable and environment-friendly ways to travel. And with an e-bike, cross-country touring is made even more enjoyable, and doable even for recreational riders and non-cyclists.

Here are the details of Aries’ modified Paselec GS9-Plus e-bike:
