PH EV Summit partners with 100,000-strong owners’ group

The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) formalized a strategic partnership on Oct. 14 with the Philippine EV Community (PEVC)—the country’s largest collective of electric vehicle drivers, numbering nearly 100,000 members—for the upcoming 14th Philippine EV Summit (PEVS).

Under the agreement, PEVC will curate an owner-led EV display on the exhibition floor, showcasing daily-driven electric passenger vehicles, while organizing the summit’s official public forums on Saturday, Oct. 24. These sessions will focus on actual kilowatt-hour consumption, home wallbox setups, long-distance provincial charging routes, and true maintenance expenses.

EVAP president Willy Q. Tee Ten said: “The people who convince others to go electric are usually the ones already driving an EV. With the Philippine EV Community on board, visitors get to hear real stories about charging, costs, and daily driving, straight from owners. That makes PEVS a lot more useful for anyone deciding on their next car.”

Carrying the theme “Driving Asean Forward: Building an Integrated Electric Mobility Ecosystem” in recognition of the Philippines’ 2026 Asean Chairmanship, PEVS 2026 runs from Oct. 22 to 24 (9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily) at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.

The event features test drives from over 15 automotive brands—including BYD, Kia, Toyota, Nissan, MG, Geely, Zeekr, Deepal, MINI, Lotus, Changan, Avatr, Dongfeng Motors, Forland, NWOW, and NXT—alongside comprehensive ecosystem displays by Meralco, DOST, DOE, ACMobility, AutoHub Group, and leading charging infrastructure providers.

Admission is ₱100; students with valid school IDs enter free of charge. Pre-register at evsummit.net.

Lexus celebrates Coffee Month with workshop

In celebration of Coffee Month, Lexus Philippines is hosting “The Crafted Cup: A Lexus Coffee Invitation” on Oct. 17 and 18, 2026 (2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) at Lexus at Mitsukoshi BGC, Taguig City.

Conducted in collaboration with the UCC Coffee Academy Philippines, the curated workshop explores the nuances of Japanese specialty coffee extraction, focusing on the discipline, balance, and patience required in hand pour-over brewing.

The lifestyle activation mirrors the brand’s automotive ethos: Just as a barista balances bean origin, water temperature, and pour rate to tailor a cup for a guest, Lexus designs its luxury vehicles around omotenashi—an intuitive, anticipatory hospitality that puts the human passenger at the center of the experience.

Due to limited seating to preserve an intimate setting, guests are invited to pre-register via the official Lexus Coffee Invitation Form.
