Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Jaguar TCS Racing have officially announced a multi-year extension of their title partnership, strengthening an alliance that has driven podium success while pushing the technical frontiers of electric mobility. Under the renewed agreement, TCS expands its footprint by becoming Jaguar TCS Racing’s official AI partner as the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship gears up for its high-performance GEN4 era.
The enhanced technical mandate will focus on deploying advanced artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline trackside operations, optimize split-second racecraft engineering, and extract actionable powertrain analytics directly applicable to the development of next-generation, road-going Jaguar luxury electric vehicles (EVs).
The renewal builds on 5 years of competitive milestones, highlighted by Jaguar TCS Racing securing the 2024 and 2026 ABB FIA Formula E Teams’ world championships. Across the GEN3 and GEN3 Evo regulation cycles, the outfit has established itself as the winningest team in the paddock, amassing more victories and podium finishes than any rival outfit while demonstrating exceptional adaptability across shifting technical rulebooks and tight street circuits.
Race-to-road innovation
Over the past 5 seasons, TCS and Jaguar TCS Racing have leaned heavily on cloud architecture and digital twin simulations to unlock competitive margins measured in milliseconds:
Virtual Vehicle Validation Model (V3M): A proprietary capability developed with TCS that allows team engineers to stress-test and validate complex software code, run continuous predictive vehicle simulations, and fine-tune powertrain energy deployment strategies in virtual environments before deploying them to the track.
Real-time data decisions: Enables trackside telemetry engineers to make rapid setup adjustments and calculate energy management windows under the tight time constraints of double-header E-Prix weekends.
Road-car transfer: Telemetry data, thermal dissipation models, and motor control algorithms honed under extreme circuit conditions directly inform the electric architecture and battery management software of future Jaguar passenger EVs.
TCS global chief marketing officer Abhinav Kumar said, “This partnership demonstrates what is possible when world-class teams come together with a shared ambition to innovate. At the close of a great season, culminating in the teams’ world championship, we are pleased to extend our partnership and build on that momentum as Formula E enters the GEN4 era. With this renewal, we will further harness AI and advanced technologies to unlock new performance opportunities to help Jaguar TCS Racing compete for more podiums and championship wins.”

JLR Motorsport chairman Chris Thorp added: “Our partnership with TCS has been instrumental in helping Jaguar TCS Racing push the boundaries of performance, efficiency, and innovation. As the championship enters the GEN4 era, this collaboration helps us drive the future of all-electric motorsport while informing the next generation of Jaguar cars. Extending our partnership with TCS is grounded in proven delivery, shared values, and a clear vision for how data and AI can elevate motorsport performance.”
Formula E as a living STEM classroom
Beyond circuit lap times, the partnership leverages Formula E as a real-world educational incubator for next-generation technology leaders:
Ignite My Future (IMF) Program: Since 2023, nearly 30,000 students across 16 countries have engaged with real-world applications of telemetry data, aerodynamic modeling, and energy recuperation strategies through custom STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) curriculum modules and behind-the-scenes race team access.
Trackside immersions: Hundreds of aspiring data scientists and engineers have participated in hands-on paddock mentorship sessions alongside Jaguar TCS Racing engineers during global E-Prix events.
The expanded commitment aligns with TCS’ broader technological footprint in the United Kingdom, where it operates as an innovation partner to more than 200 premier enterprises and recently confirmed plans to add 5,000 new technical jobs over the next three years.
