VinFast opens nationwide test drives for e-motorcycles

VinFast e-Motorcycle, the electric 2-wheeler division of Vietnamese BEV manufacturer VinFast, launches its initial product lineup in the Philippines today, July 31, opening public test drives across its nationwide dealership network. The initiative aims to familiarize local riders with electric 2-wheeler technology, battery management, and home/swapping charging ecosystems.
e-Motorcycle lineup and performance specs:
o VinFast Evo: Styled for daily urban commutes, achieving a top speed of 80 kph and a maximum riding range of up to 150 km when equipped with two fully charged batteries.
o VinFast Feliz II: A versatile everyday e-scooter designed for multi-purpose utility, delivering a top speed of 90 kph.
o VinFast Viper: Performance-focused electric scooter featuring a 5,200W electric motor, sporty bodywork, and a top speed of 90 kph.
All three models feature dual under-seat battery compartments that support battery-swapping tech. VinFast plans to collaborate with local partners to deploy approximately 30,000 battery-swapping cabinets nationwide, offering one-minute battery exchanges at select dealerships alongside home charging and subscription options. Test drive activities will span Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Bulacan throughout August.

First-ever Toyota Legacy Experience in Laguna starts today

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) hosts the inaugural Toyota Legacy Experience starting today, July 31 to Aug. 2, at the Eton City Square Village Walk in Santa Rosa, Laguna. The three-day community event celebrates Toyota’s 4×4 heritage while providing public on-road and off-road test drives for the all-new Land Cruiser FJ and 9th-generation Hilux (in both ICE and 4×4 BEV configurations).
The event brings together major local enthusiast groups—including the Land Cruiser Club of the Philippines, FJ Cruiser Owners Philippines, Grupo Toyota, Aesthetics Toyota, Hilux Club PH, GR Supra PH, GR Yaris PH, 86 Club PH, GR Corolla, TMP Car Club, Car Friends, JDMUnderground Philippines, Hardcore Outdoor, and Slapsoil Car Club.

BYD Cars PH launches Atto 2 SUV and updated Seal 5 DM-i

BYD Cars Philippines officially introduced the new BYD Atto 2 subcompact crossover and the updated BYD Seal 5 DM-i sedan at the Trinoma Activity Center in Quezon City during the BYD Tech Tour (running from July 28 to August 2).
BYD Atto 2 overview:
The Atto 2 subcompact SUV is available in pure electric (BEV) and Super DM-i plug-in hybrid variants, all built around BYD’s Blade Battery:


o Atto 2 EV Premium: Features a 45.1 kWh Blade Battery supplying up to 380 km of electric range (NEDC), vehicle-to-load (V2L) external power capability, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, and DiPilot ADAS.


o Atto 2 Super DM-i (Dynamic and Premium): Combines a 1.5-liter engine with an electric drive motor, yielding up to 45 km of pure electric range and a combined total range of up to 1,340 km (tested with the Automobile Association Philippines). Features a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, with the Premium trim adding DiPilot ADAS.
Updated BYD Seal 5 DM-i sedan overview:

Utilizing BYD’s 5th-generation Super DM-i technology, the updated sedan recorded a combined driving range of up to 2,181 km in tests conducted with the AAP. The Essential variant features a 7.42 kWh Blade Battery providing 55 km of EV-only range, while the Dynamic variant upgrades to an 18.3 kWh Blade Battery for up to 115 km of pure electric driving. The cabin includes an 8.8-inch digital cluster, 10.1-inch infotainment screen, and a 522-liter trunk (expandable to 1,295 liters).
